Commentary Letter
To the Health and Occupation Students of America Participants:
We appreciate and recognize the hard work and dedication each chapter, advisor, and participant put forth into making it to this year’s State Leadership Conference. The hours spent each day for these past few months in preparation for the 2017 SLC does not go unnoticed, and we commend you for your efforts. As a result of each chapter’s culminated work put in, we can expect a successful conference to be taken place this year in Sacramento.
Starting from the Opening Ceremony, we can expect each chapter to be excited for and open to the many activities and opportunities offered. There will be an array of workshops offered for the students to attend, where they will be exposed to different speakers and professionals. We can expect students to gain both knowledge and skill by taking advantage of these leadership opportunities. Furthermore, this year’s Social Event will be a Talent Showcase, highlighting the many unique talents of our very own HOSA participants. And finally, the Closing Ceremony will be one to remember. Although only those that soared in the top 3 of their competitions will have the opportunity to be recognized at the National level, we know that each participant’s hard-work will be of value no matter what is and isn’t recognized by the end of this conference. You will have arrived having come prepared for your events, and you will leave with even more knowledge and the experience to keep with you forever.
Sincerely,
Daniela Buenrostro and Lisbeth Romero (CO-HOSA Presidents)
